Workshop tomorrow, workshop next week
Two chances for you to get lots of writing done in good company
Hello writers,
It’s June, the shortest day is approaching, and soon we’ll be on the rapid rollercoaster ride down towards spring. Hooray.
I’m just back from a work trip to Serbia which was truly wonderful and has left me enlivened and excited to finish my writing projects. My day job at the moment is to work on a training course on violence against women in politics and to deliver it to parliamentarians from over the world — it’s REALLY interesting. Being in a room with around 200 female parliamentarians from around the globe last week was inspiring. You can see by the size of my smile that I was proud to be there, and to find our flag in amongst all the others.
And now, I’m equally excited to be running two writing workshops over the next ten days that are focussed on writing youth.
The first is happening tomorrow, in Newlands, Cape Town, from 9am - 1pm. The next is happening next Friday online via Zoom. There is still space available in both workshops, so pop me an email on jenthorpewrites@gmail.com to sign up.
We’ll explore:
The difference between YA and middle-grade works
The market for YA fiction
Some structures you might like to try for a YA novel
Writing from the young perspective - tips and tricks.
I can’t wait. Every writing workshop is an opportunity for me to learn more about writing and the industry. Thank you to all of you who come along to workshops and make that learning possible.
See you soon, I hope!
Jen

Wow, Jen, that is such an amazing job. No doubt you will keep on raising our flag up high! Wishing you continued success with your workshops and projects.
Hi Jen
Can you let me know the time of the online workshop? And the cost? I'd really like to do one with you.
